I was asked why I post about Scientology so much

I have to be honest here, it's because Scientology makes me feel better about living in this world. It shouldn't do that, but it does.
Scientology is completely false about its core claims, yet for many years it was absurdly successful. Hubbard created his own fake reality, and persuaded tens of thousand of people to live there. It's amazing, and deeply educational that that is even possible.
It means the world is not as brutally monolithic as it appears. You can create a different reality, provided you appear to conform to the powers that be.

There's less pressure when you understand that no one knows anything - or at least they don't know anything about your values (not that they want to, or need to, of course). Things are easier when you know you can just ignore the dumb teachers and mainstream commentators and Tiger Mothers.
Everyone's weaknesses are always on display, but that only matters when you want to play in someone else's reality. For example, by the need to appear "cool" or have high status or power.

I don't really know anything either.
Like, why do so many people think that scene with the home video of the alien at the Brazilian party in the movie "Signs" was scary? I mean it was a good scene, but not scary.

Speaking of aliens: Scientology doesn't have as many aliens as mainstream commentators seem to believe. Hubbard deliberately throttled his imagination when he made that stuff up. By making his mythology as boring as possible, he made it seem more believable to boring people.

  1. PREDICTIONS FOR 2026:

I predict that three times this year Miscavige will give a MAJOR speech for wealthy cultmembers, where he will announce to triumphant applause that they are expanding faster than ever. He will emphasize their programs fighting drugs and immorality. Miscavige will show slideshows of people in the Third World holding up banners and jumping for joy. The applause will go on for many minutes. Members will state for the record that it was the best briefing ever. Quotes of praise will be published in various publicity materials above their initials.

There will be several Ideal Org openings, surrounded by massive security, which will also feature local notables and bigwigs giving speeches where they will praise the efforts of Scientology to build better communities.

There will be secret meetings with city council members in Clearwater, discussing monetary and planning matters. Same in East Grinstead.
The annual IAS event will be surrounded by hired security guards, and additional fence barriers to prevent anyone taking photos of Tom Cruise. The CST compound will also have increased security.

Cult lawyers will file many legal briefs requesting that various lawsuits and criminal cases be delayed. These legal motions will be granted.

There will be no word on when OT-9 will be released, and not a hint about what happened to Shelly Miscavige. There will be no word in 2026 on when the Saint Hill Special Briefing Course will be available again.

There will be increased pressure on cult members to travel to the advanced orgs, Flag, and the Freewinds for paid services.

At the end of the year, at the New Year's briefing, Miscavige will say that 2026 was their best year ever, and they are booming like never before.

  2. In 2009, they published the book "Guide to Materials of Dianetics and Scientology." There was an entry about how they were re-issuing the SHSBC, with even some mockups included. But it seems to be taking much longer than expected. The consensus is that it's packed full of so much disorganized and weird stuff that Miscavige doesn't know how to edit it to make it seem more respectable.
