The biggest problem in the world that no one is talking about:
It's the still theoretical but plausible ability of future computers to create intense emotions and feelings. This could go wrong far worse than any horror movie. It could mass produce torture.
What should we do about that?
My best guess is that all information systems should be connected together.
The solution to every problem always involves higher level description, followed by more control.
All of reality should become increasingly integrated. I don't know if that would reveal some "highest meaning" of reality, but that is not really important right now.
I started writing a long comment about this at a LessWrong post, but my account was instantly banned. Frankly, that hurt. I don't like under what standards these people operate, and suspect they might actually be the bad guys :(
